Dorjee Sun, a 29 year old Australian entrepreneur, believes there's money to be made from saving rainforests in Indonesia and making a real impact on climate change. His plan relies on his ability to convince the wealthy, high polluting corporations of the west that they are the key to the planet’s environmental future.

Armed with a laptop and a backpack, Dorjee sets out across the globe to find investors in his scheme. But the corporate world is not yet willing to value the world’s most precious assets, and he receives over 200 rejections. Meanwhile this year’s annual burning season gets underway. A small-scale farmer wrestles with the dilemma of contributing to climate change and needing to feed his family. And at her rehabilitation centre in Borneo, a wildlife carer battles overcrowding and despair as more injured and orphaned orangutans are rescued from the fires.

Dorjee’s quest takes him to the UN Climate Change Conference in Bali and to California to meet Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. This is the story of a young man not afraid to single-handedly confront the biggest challenge of our time. His determination to succeed and his award-winning achievement will uplift and entertain audiences and inspire real hope in our future.

Directed by Cathy Henkel , The Burning Season is not to be missed.

"This highly informative film is not pushing an agenda. We get to hear many sides of the story, it’s so nice to be treated like an intelligent adult by a filmmaker." **** Margaret Pomeranz, At The Movies
"I found it a fascinating documentary, an important documentary, and a very informative documentary with some wonderful footage...I think Cathy Henkel's done a terrific job with this and I got an awful lot out of this film." **** David Stratton, At The Movies

"[T]old clearly and with a sense of urgency befitting the subject matter, crisply narrated by Hugh Jackman." Andrew Urban, Urban Cinefile

"As inspiring as An Inconvenient Truth was frightening, Cathy Henkel's energetic documentary, The Burning Season tackles one aspect of global warming and introduces people trying to make a difference. Heady facts about emission trading schemes threaten to overwhelm the viewer, but it also packs plenty of genuine emotion." Russell Edwards, Variety
